Laminate veneers, especially porcelain laminate veneers (PLV), are known for their longevity. One study found a 10-year survival rate of approximately 95.5% for porcelain veneers. Another study found a 93.5% survival rate. However, factors such as bruxism and loss of tooth vitality can increase failure rates. Furthermore, veneers that do not cover the incisal surfaces have been observed to have higher failure rates than those that do. Therefore, while laminate veneers are quite durable, factors such as material selection, preparation design, and individual patient characteristics can affect their longevity.
